Project AXSHYA Review-Planning Meeting Held
The Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) is the largest Coalition Partner of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The UNION) for implementation of Project Axshya in 96 districts across 10 States.
Project Axshya is actively working to improve the reach, visibility and effectiveness of RNTCP through civil society support by engaging communities and community-based care-providers to improve TB care and control, especially for the marginalized and vulnerable populations including TB-HIV patients.
In order to review the outcome-based activities, develop programme implementation strategies and design the future course of action, the Project Team organized a review-cum-planning meeting from 23rd- 25th February 2015 at CHAI central office. 65 members comprising district coordinators, regional coordinators, assistant programme managers and CHAI central office team participated in the meeting. Dr. Sarabjit Chada, Project Director and Dr. B.M Prasad, Technical Officer also graced the meeting from the Project Management Unit (PMU) team, (Union).
The objectives of the meeting were i ) to review progress on Global Fund indicators, ii) Strategize on special activities and World TB day activities, and iii) review financial procedures and protocols for data validation.
Highlights of the programme:
- Progress of CHAI towards global fund indicators was reviewed
- District-wise review was done for the last three quarters.
- District-wise quarterly action plan was developed.
- Participants obtained knowledge on Operational Research. The basic guidelines of research were discussed for framing the new research areas based on the project activity and so on.
