CHAI’s Poster on Diabetes Adjudged One of the Best by World Congress on Public Health
The “14th World Congress on Public Health” was held from 11th to 15th February 2015 at Science City, Kolkata, India. During the inauguration, His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma, Director-General, Common Wealth of Nations; Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director, WHO SEARO; and Mr. CK Mishra, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Mission Director NRHM, Govt of India participated.
Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh gave the keynote address on the theme: “Healthy People – Healthy Environment”.
The Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) presented two papers on the topics ‑ “Disability Assessment among children supported by rehabilitation assistance in resource – poor settings”, and “Enhanced case-finding for Tuberculosis through a multi-pronged approach under the AXSHYA Project”. “Population-based type 2 and gestational diabetes awareness and screening in Uttar Pradesh”; “Attitudes and barriers towards involvement of rural health care practitioners in RNTCP from multiple-stakeholders” and “Role of civil society in increasing immunization coverage” were explained through posters. Dr. Shalini, Dr Sameer and Ms. Meena represented CHAI at the congress presenting papers and posters.
CHAI’s Poster on Diabetes was adjudged one of the best 20 posters among the 430 Posters presented at the congress.
