CHAI Celebrated World Environment Day
World Environment Day is observed on every 5th of June since 1973. The objective is to raise global awareness on the importance of a healthy and green environment in the human lives. Eventually this would solve the environmental issues by implementing positive environmental actions as well as to make aware to the common public worldwide that everyone is responsible for saving their environment. This year’s theme is “Join the race to make the world a better place”.
As part of the Celebration and to promote Environmental/Eco friendly measures, CHAI central office had planted the trees in front of its main gate: a symbolic invitational juncture to inspire the Member Institutions and other Church organizations on 5th June, 2016. Rev. Dr Mathew Abraham C.S.s.R, MD, Director-General, gave a message on the importance of a healthy and green environment. Rev. Dr. Joby Kavungal RCJ, Director-Research & Communications, and CHAI Staff gathered at the main gate at 3.30 pm. He mentioned that with this symbolic endeavor CHAI as a team is and will become part of any genuine initiative aimed at safeguarding the environmental health of the country. The senior staff Ms Lizy Francis and the youngest staff Ms Khadhma conjointly planted the trees in front of the CHAI central office.
