CHAI Participates in Observing World Sight Day
Blind-folded and hand-held, 300 persons in Hyderabad got a feel of what it is like to not have vision and how dark the world appears.
On 13th October, Director -General of CHAI, Rev. Dr. Mathew Abraham C.Ss.R, MD, along with Rev. Dr. Joby Kavungal, RCJ and Rev. Sr. Lincy Cherian SCSC, Associate Directors, took part in the World Blind Walk held at Hyderabad to mark the World Sight Day.
The walk started at 7.15 am and it was part of the largest eye donation campaign in the world, organised simultaneously in 55 locations across five countries. The event started from KBR Park to LV Prasad Lab. The entire distance was covered blindfolded.
The walk ended with all participants pledging to donate their eyes and to work as vision ambassadors for the society to make easy the process of eye donation. The event, Blind Walk 2016, was organised by Project Vision to mark World Sight Day.
