Health Care Services for the Rural and the Tribal People through Telemedicine

The health status of Indians especially that of the rural population which falls below the poverty line is still a cause for grave concern. The rural areas are lacking in basic health and sanitation facilities and there is a heavy burden of preventable diseases in these areas. Comprehensive Community Health Programme

This initiative aims at creating empowered communities wherein an active group within the community will identify causes of ill-health and take active responsibility for their own health and development. It is a nationwide initiative, and is implemented in 11 states and nearly 300 villages.

 Community Health Promotion Programme

Community Health Promotion Programme is an innovative approach focused on supporting micro-level initiatives for improving the health status of women and children in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand. Activities implemented by 20 Member Institutions of CHAI include Formation of Village Health Committees; Formation of SHGs; Awareness Programmes/Health Education with Specific Focus on Mother and Child Health; Medical Support to Pregnant and Lactating Women and Malnourished Children.     Read More…

Comprehensive Child Survival Programme

Towards strengthening the capacity of health workers, health system and community and to contribute to the goal of reducing infant and child mortality, the Comprehensive Child Survival Programme is being implemented jointly by CHAI and UNICEF. The aim of this partnership is to support the IMNCI component for child survival and its subsequent implementation at the field level in a four districts in Uttar Pradesh.            Read More…
