Leprosy Programme

Leprosy Project

Through this intervention CHAI is working with the objective of building the capacity of care-givers and institutions towards providing services and rehabilitation to those suffering from leprosy including reconstructive surgeries and physiotherapy. It is being implemented in seven States — Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh. Through this initiative 234 new leprosy cases have been identified of which 41 cases received constructive surgery. Also Community Health Workers totaling 420 received training.
