CHAI’s has the ability and availability for instant response in mobilizing resources and personnel to carry out relief work, providing medical aid, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual rehabilitation and attending to hygiene and sanitation issues.

CHAI sets up Disaster Management Cell (DMC) to facilitate medical relief work in Uttarakhand
The Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) expressed concern and solidarity with all the affected people of Uttarakhand calamity.
A small team from Rajathsthan Uttar Pradesh Catholic Health Association (RUPCHA) and the Bijnor Diocesan Unit provided immediate relief and assistance to the people affected by the flash floods and landslides.
Deputed CHAI Doctors in Government Hospitals of Uttarakhand: CHAI deputed 6 batches of Medical Officers/Doctors from July to December 2013. These doctors were deputed /placed in Government PHCs/CHCs/ District Hospitals as per the request of Uttarakhand government and they rendered commendable services to the affected people.
CHAI was also requested by Govt. of Uttarakhand to share the responsibility of training Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs/DAIs) in Uttarakhand. CHAI trained Two Twenty Six (226) DAIs in three districts of Uttarakhand (Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag).
