Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross (Ingenbohl) and Sisters of the Holy Cross (Menzingen) Congregations Meets in CHAI
Catholic Health Association of India organized a two-day workshop for these two prominent congregations of the same founder in the Central office and henceforth revolved a historical moment. There were separate enriching encounters and fruitful conjoined meets as well.
The two-day workshop on “Action 2020-Repostioning Health Care Mission for the Future” was held on 7th and 8th June 2016, at the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI), Central Office, Secunderabad, Telanagana. The objective of the workshop was to orient the leaders from the major congregations working in the field of health care at the grassroots level for the need for repositioning. The workshop is supported by Conard N Hilton Foundation.
Forty-three leaders comprising 7 Provincial Superiors and 36 General Councilors for Health & Education attended the workshop. Rev. Dr. Mathew Abraham C.Ss.R, Director-General, CHAI, welcomed the participants. Rev. Dr. Mathew Abraham C.Ss,R, Rev. Dr. Joby Kavungal RCJ, and Ms. Rose Mary were the resource persons for the two-day workshop.
As part of the outcome of the workshop, the Vision and Mission for Health Ministry of the congregation were drafted and agreed upon. The steering committee set up by Holy Cross Mission has been given the mandate to develop an Action 2030 document with road-map and action plan, network with hospitals and clinics, collaborate with CHAI etc. The seven Provincial Superiors signed the mandate and Sr. Vijaya HC was appointed as the Executive Director of the Steering Committee for Holy Cross Mission.
